Hvornår er kulturel boykot en legitim kritik – og hvornår bliver den kollektiv udstødelse? Hvad sker der, når nationalitet eller politisk tilhørsforhold afgør, hvem der kan deltage i kulturlivet? I takt med en intensiveret debat i Europa efter krigen i Gaza samler denne rundbordssamtale kunstnere og stemmer direkte berørt af udviklingen.
Panelet består af samtidskunstnerne Bjørn Nørgaard, Augusta Atla, Lina Hashim og den israelske kunstner Amir Fattal, hvis udstilling i Mexico City blev lukket efter hærværk med antisemitisk graffiti. Samtalen modereres af journalist og kommentator Anne Sofie Allarp.

ART, IDENTITY AND BOYCOTT: WHERE IS THE LINE FOR CULTURAL EXCLUSION?
When is a cultural boycott a legitimate form of critique—and when does it become collective exclusion? What happens when nationality or political affiliation determines who can participate in cultural life? As debate across Europe has intensified in the wake of the war in Gaza, this roundtable brings together artists and voices directly affected by these developments.
The panel features contemporary artists Bjørn Nørgaard, Augusta Atla, Lina Hashim, and Israeli artist Amir Fattal, whose exhibition in Mexico City was closed following acts of vandalism involving antisemitic graffiti. The conversation will be moderated by journalist and commentator Anne-Sofie Allarp.
The evening does not aim to polarize, but to open up a serious and nuanced discussion about artistic freedom, responsibility, activism, and the increasingly fragile space for complexity in today’s cultural landscape. The event is organized by Jødisk Kulturfestival og Kos og Kaos.
